We received this Spirit 1.0 Plus as a trade in from a customer in late 2025 for a credit towards a Momentum M10. The customer estimated about 5 uses. Motor was manufactured on Feb 15 2023 and the customer purchased the motor and battery later in 2023.

The motor and battery are in great condition and show little signs of wear other than some scratches on the pylon/skeg. We have scanned the battery and it shows no sign of cell imbalance or other issues. Please note that both this motor and battery are out of warranty.

Description

ePropulsion's Spirit 1.0 Plus is a portable 3HP electric outboard made for dinghies, fishing boats, sailboats and tenders. It features a 1276 Wh large integrated lithium battery for long range. It’s nimble, lightweight, and clean power.

Other than a fresh water rinse after use and keeping the electrical contacts clean, the Spirit 1.0 Plus requires no regular maintenance or winterization. The motor and battery weigh 43 pounds together, but can be easily handled on their own, weighing just 24 and 19 pounds individually. At full throttle, most users can expect a run time of about one hour and 15 minutes; at half throttle, you can double your range to about two and a half hours of run time. Exact run time depends on a variety of factors including sea conditions and hull weight and shape.

The Spirit 1.0 Plus is the more economical option in ePropulsion's Spirit series. The 1.0 Plus includes a built in tiller extension and does not have a remote steering/remote throttle option, a backlit screen on the tiller, hydrogeneration or compatibility with the safety wristband. If you're interested in those features, please purchase the Spirit Evo.

*EMO Electric highly recommends purchasing a spare prop for the Spirit 1.0 Plus if you plan to use it in shallow water. The Spirit propeller is made of plastic. While it is not delicate, it is not as durable as a metal prop. This is by design; in the even of a grounding, it's preferable to break a propeller instead of damaging the motor itself. Our spare Spirit props include two extra shear pins.

**If you plan on transporting your Spirit 1.0 Plus, we highly recommend purchasing the Spirit Bag Set. It makes moving the motor and Spirit Battery around much easier and provides protection for your motor, battery and your boat!

If the shaft length of your Spirit 1.0 Plus is too short for your boat, you may have cavitation issues, which will reduce efficiency. If your shaft length is too long, you will lose efficiency and be more susceptible to running aground. It also may lead to the propeller and pod of the Spirit 1.0 Plus staying in the water when the motor is raised all the way up, especially if you have an angled transom.
