The Remigo One Neo is Remigo's next iteration of their flagship electric outboard, the Remigo One. The motors are quite similar; they share many of the same features and use the same transom bracket, chargers, battery, tiller, and housing. The key difference is the motor itself, which has been upgrade from a gear 1kW electric motor to a direct drive 1.5kW electric motor, offering 4hp of power in "boost mode." Remigo has also designed a new propeller for the Neo, which has a smaller diameter and different pitch than the original prop, being optimized for a more powerful electric outboard.

Key Features

Near Silent Operation

The Remigo One Neo features a direct drive motor, which is more efficient and significantly quieter than the original Remigo One. You'll barely hear the motor, especially at slower speeds.

Boost Mode

The Remigo One Neo features a 1.5 kW / 4 hp boost mode. Once you're at full continuous power (1 kW / 3 hp), press and hold the forward button for 3 seconds to engage boost mode, which will last for one minute. You must be above 40% state of charge to use boost mode.

Adjustable Shat Length

The Remigo One Neo is one of the only electric outboards with an adjustable shaft length. Simply loosen the three bolts on the tiller bracket and slide the shaft up or down to get the perfect length for your boat. This makes the Remigo One Neo an excellent choice for customers who want an electric outboard for use across multiple boats.

Durable Construction

The Remigo One Neo is constructed with all marine grade aluminum housing and is IP67 rated. Compared to other electric outboards on the market, the Remigo One Neo has less moving parts and fewer points of failure. It's also designed for saltwater, with one anode on the transom bracket and two anodes on the motor.

Unique Transom Bracket

The transom bracket of the Remigo One Neo is designed to live on your transom or outboard bracket. Removing the Neo is as simple as pulling out a pin and lifting the motor straight up. There's no need to undo the bolts on the transom bracket each time you'd like to bring your Remigo One Neo home!

Extremely Light Weight

The Remigo Neo One weighs just 29 pounds; this is inclusive of the shaft, tiller and the built in battery. The transom bracket weighs about 5.5 pounds, although it is unlikely you'd need to handle both at the same time. The total weight of 34.5 pounds is about 8-10 pounds lighter than other 3hp electric outboards. The only lighter weight electric outboard of a similar power output is the original Remigo One, which weighs 2.5 pounds less.

Built In Battery

The Remigo One Neo Battery is built into its shaft. This eliminates the need for cables and exposed contacts to connect the battery to the motor, which is one of the most common points of failure for small electric outboards.

Multiple Charging Options

The Remigo One Neo comes with its standard AC charger, which takes about 6 hours to charge the motor. There are three other chargers sold separately. The fact AC charger also plugs in to a regular wall outlet, but brings the charge time down to 3 hours. The Remigo 12v DC charger charges the motor in 10-12 hours. Remigo also makes a solar charge controller!

I’ve now used the Remigo One Neo for three days in Cape Cod saltwater on an 8.5-foot True Kit Navigator inflatable. One outing was with just two adults, and the other two were with four people (including a toddler), two small dogs, and beach gear.

Overall, I’m very happy with it and would absolutely buy it again. The motor feels extremely well built and premium. It’s easy to carry from the car to the beach, mounts to the transom quickly, and has impressed me with its power. Even with a full load and a strong current, it pushed us along comfortably at around 80% power without needing Boost mode. Solo, it’s surprisingly quick in Boost—almost enough to get my small inflatable on plane. Range has also been more than enough for our harbor cruising.

I also love the adjustable shaft length. Being able to dial it in perfectly for my boat was a huge advantage over fixed-shaft motors, and it looks fantastic on the transom.

My only criticisms are minor ergonomic quirks. The folding tiller takes a little practice to move between positions, and I’ve occasionally missed getting it fully locked when tilting the motor. Also, as a right-handed operator sitting at the port stern, reaching the tilt release while approaching the beach feels a bit awkward. Neither issue is a deal-breaker, but both took some getting used to.

Finally, I have to give a shout-out to Luke at EMO Electric. I called him after work on a Thursday, placed my order that night, he shipped it Friday morning, and it arrived at my house on Saturday. That level of service was incredible and let us get the motor in time for our Cape Cod trip. I’d happily buy from EMO again.

I discovered the EMO group as I was trying to learn about electric outboard motors for my 19 foot sailboat. I first found a number of videos that the group generated. I then reached out to Luke with a series of specific questions. He was quickly available and always extremely helpful. I am delighted with the early use of the Remigo One Neo. It was easy to install and it powers the sailboat really smoothly. The remote control was a great addition. It enabled me to control the boat from the cockpit. My scrambling days are behind me. All in all, this was a very positive process, and I am delighted with the purchase. I would recommend the motor and, even more enthusiastically, Luke and his group.

As luck would have it, due to the extreme lack of rain in OK, the lake levels have dropped to the point that all keel boats have had to be pulled to present them from laying on the bottom of the harbor where they are docked. Therefore I can not comment on the performance of the outboard and at this point probably will not be able
to use it until next March. It was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. I charged it up and it is now sitting in my laundry room until we get sufficient rain to fill the lake up. EMO was a great company to work with. Their communication was great. I would definitely purchase products from them in the future.

We love our new Remigo One electric outboard. I wasn't sure which outboard to buy, there are quite a few options now with lots of different features and it can be confusing. I called EMO Electric and talked to Luke and he was incredibly helpful in sorting it out. I love the simplicity and durability of the Remigo and I can charge it off my house battery bank right on the outboard bracket on the stern of my sailboat, I don't have to remove batteries ect.. It's the perfect outboard for my use.
