Momentum M6 6kW / 10 hp Electric Outboard

$9998

The Momentum M6 by Momentum Electric Marine is a 6kW / 10hp electric outboard that's the most portable in its class. Whether you're fishing in fresh water, need a reliable electric outboard for your dinghy, or just want to say goodbye to the noise and environmental impact of a gas outboard, the Momentum M6 is a great choice.

Constructed with primarily metal, not plastic, the Momentum M6 electric outboard is built to stand up to a harsh marine environment. Yet it's still portable enough to take on and off of your boat with ease. The motor features a transom bracket that's designed to stay on your transom, but the M6 itself comes off easily. The Momentum M6 is versatile and can be used with up to four Momentum MB-6 6.4kWh batteries, or third party batteries, as long as the system voltage reaches 72v.

The runtime of the Momentum M6 with just one Momentum MB-6.4kWh battery is enough for the vast majority of boaters. In Momentum Electric Marine's testing on a small RIB, they found that one battery gave the M6 1.1 hours of run time at full power/11kts and 7.5hrs of run time at 4.4kts.

Momentum M6 FAQ

What's the range of the Momentum M6?

Like all electric outboards, the range of the Momentum M6 electric outboard depends on your speed. As tested on a Highfield 310 Classic, the run time at full power is about 66 minutes with a speed of 12.7mph. At a speed of 5mph, the run time is about 7 hours and 30 minutes. Please see the full run time chart below for more info.

How much does the Momentum M6 Electric Outboard cost?

At the time of this writing, the cost of a Momentum M10 complete package is $9,998. Without the battery, the cost is $4,999.

Can you connect more than one MB-6 Battery to the Momentum M6?

Yes, it is possible to use up to four MB-6 Batteries with a Momentum M6 electric outboard.

Can you use third party batteries with the Momentum M6?

Yes, but you'll need to purchase an adapter cable and ensure that the rated voltage is 72v and that the batteries provide a continuous power output of 150A.

Does the Momentum MB-6 Battery overheat or limit power output?

Momentum Electric Marine is based in Singapore, where they do their testing. They have had not seen any issues with overheating in that climate or with any customers to date. When the battery capacity drops below 20%, power output starts to become limited. Not only does this protect the battery from damage, but it also helps ensure that you have enough range to get home.

Can you lock the steering on the Momentum M6?

No, but you can easily tighten the steering friction so that the motor stays centered when you take your hand off of the tiller.

How does the Momentum M6 differ from the Momentum M10 electric outboard?

The two motors are almost identical with the exception of the maximum power output, which is 6kW on the M6 and 10kW on the M10.
