The ePropulsion eLite Long Shaft has finally arrived in the US!
The original 1.5hp / 500W ePropulsion eLite was released in early 2024 and quickly became one of our best selling electric outboards. Weighing only 15 pounds and originally priced at just $999, it was the first electric outboard at that price and power output. But one of the issues with the eLite was its short shaft length. The original eLite had a four-position adjustable shaft, but the highest it could go is 15.8". The maximum transom height this could accommodate was about 15.5", which was too short for many boaters.
But now the Long Shaft ePropulsion eLite is here! This opens the door to boaters who want the portability and convenience of a light weight 1.5hp electric outboard but have a transom higher than 15.5 inches.
What's the length of the ePropulsion eLite Long Shaft?
Just like the short shaft version, the eLite Long Shaft is adjustable between four positions. It's easy to adjust the shaft length, you'll just need to remove four Allen head machine screws and slide the black bracket to your preferred position (check out our video below to see how to to do it). The four different eLite long shaft lengths are 21.7", 20.2", 18.6" and 17". The shaft length options on the eLite short shaft are 11.1",12.7", 14.3" and 15.8".
How is the ePropulsion eLite Long Shaft different from the short shaft version?
Other than shaft length, the weight is the only other main difference. The eLite Long Shaft weighs 16.1 pounds without the bracket, and the short shaft eLite weighs 14.7 pounds. They use the same bracket, which weighs 2.6 pounds.
Other than that, everything else between the two version of the eLite is the same, including the size of the battery and run time.
